Neil Edson, Expert Consultant

Business owner with around 40 years experience working with commercial / bespoke and residential window systems.

Neil has an innate awareness for design, fabrication and installation of aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling and façade products. Open to opportunities in consulting, to include insurance claim surveying and the development of turnkey solutions for façade systems across the south-east.

Personal Projects include:

• Long distance running (marathons and ½ marathons)
• Built a kit car in 2002 (Cobra Replica) - still driving it
• Built two houses
• Made a violin
• Refurbished a Honda CBX1000 motorbike
• Refurbishing an Austin A35 (current project)

• Felix UK Ltd - Commissioning of high-tech electronic components for opening vents to include site maintenance mainly in the London area. Practical guidance/assessment of technical drawings.
• Leaktech Ltd – Assist in progressing ‘Water Tightness Compliance Testing’ to 4no. main hall rooflights on the Battersea Power Station.
• Cunningham Lindsey Insurance Claims Department - “The Bridge” Apartment Block, Queenstown Road, SW8 - Solve acoustic problems, repair/replacement and the rebuilding of Schuco window/door components. Now retained as the building façade repair/maintenance contactor.
• Jones Lang LaSalle - Mortimer St, W1 - Source and replace structural glass floor panels - (original Eckelt items).
• Corley and Wooley - St Martin’s Lane, WC2 - Replace and repair 30yr old MERO roof to include material supply.
• Chaneys Chartered Surveyors - Basingstoke penthouse apartments - Investigate water leak to curtain walling, present report and effect comprehensive repair/solution.
• Bombay Sapphire - Overton - Investigate Jansen door closing problems, offer solution and effect a substantial upgrade.
• Southampton Council - Head Office - Curtain Wall glass replacement to include road closures and craneage.
• Total Installation Ltd - Aldershot - Project management of replacement windows and doors to 120 council dwellings for the Elmbridge Council.

Joint Owner/Director 1998 - 2008

Designed, manufactured and installed mainly Schuco windows, doors and façade products from High End domestic properties to trade “Supply Only” clients through to commercial projects including airport control towers.

• Main contractor direct - Gun Wharf Quays, Portsmouth PO1 - Trade Supply Only - Schuco Doors £300,000.
• Small main contractor - Clere Street, EC2A - Design, manufacture and install glazing to a “High End” private house atop a four storey Victorian ware house.
• Plus Wall Ltd - National Physical Laboratory - fabricate approx 1500no. opening vents from “Free Issue” material.
• Window Repair Co. Ltd - BAT building in Woking - Supply and fabricate 1080 windows in Schuco material.
• Schmidlin UK Ltd - The Gerkin - St Mary Axe - Supply and fabricate over height doors to street level.

Supplied and installed glazed screens and doors to John Lelliot for the Greek National Bank winning the accolade of the first property to re-open after the St Mary Axe IRA bombing attack.
